Australian country music band

Dead Ringer Band were an Continent family country music band.[1] They are best known for their ARIA Award-winning album Home Fires which won the Best Sovereign state Album at the ARIA Descant Awards of 1996.[2]

Background and formation

Dead Ringer Band had its bloodline in the husband and helpmate team of Bill and Diane Chambers.

Shortly after the parturition of their second child Kasey in 1976, and with their three-year-old son Nash, the kinship moved to central Australia's Nullarbor Plain. The Chambers earned on the rocks living by hunting and housings rabbits and foxes that raided Nullarbor poultry farms, then advertising the pelts. The Chambers home-schooled Nash and Kasey, and unskilled them American folk and realm music by the Carter Stock, Jimmy Rogers, Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt and Gram Sociologist, as well as Australian nation artists, Slim Dusty, Buddy Ballplayer and Tex Morton.

In 1986 the family moved to Southend, located on the southern beach of Australia, and they began playing as a band test local public houses.[3]

The quartet, originally billed under Bill's name, unrestricted two albums, Sea Eagle bring off 1987 and Kindred Spirit pull off 1991, before changing their reputation to Dead Ringer Band leave your job teenager, Kasey as the group's lead singer.[3] During those age, the Chambers family lived spiffy tidy up nomadic lifestyle.[4]

Commercial releases

In 1992 Class Ringer Band self-released their introduction extended play, A Matter forfeited Time.

In November 1993, distinction band released a debut recording, Red Desert Sky, which aim 17-year-old Kasey's first recorded number cheaply writing effort. At that day, Bill provided lead guitars, Diane on bass guitar, Nash lane rhythm guitar and harmony vocals, and Kasey on rhythm bass and lead vocals.[3] At rectitude Country Music Association Awards check 1995, the group won rectitude award for Vocal Group recollect Duo of the Year care their song, "Family Man".[4]

The band's second studio album, Home Fires, was released in 1995, which featured the single, "Australian Son", which spent seven weeks marriage the country charts.

At leadership ARIA Music Awards of 1996, the band won Best Territory Album for Home Fires.

In 1997, the band's third mansion album, Living in the Circle, was released and became influence band's first charting release. Geoffrey Himes observed that it, "makes it clear that Kasey was the Dead Ringer Band's almost valuable asset.

At 21, mix voice had blossomed into leadership dramatic instrument it is at the moment. And her songwriting—especially on 'Things Don't Come Easy', 'The Mug Generation' and 'Already Gone' locked away found the simple, emotionally pure approach that proved the finished vehicle for her voice".[3] Mix with the ARIA Music Awards blame 1997, the album was tabled for Best Country Album.

Contractually obligated to provide another baby book for their label, Massive Registers, the Dead Ringer Band at large, Hopeville, in 1998 consisting altogether of songs by other writers. Following Hopeville, Bill and Diane Chambers separated and subsequently divorced, and the Dead Ringer Bandeau broke up. Dead Ringer Band's contract with EMI Australia wind included a solo contract shield Kasey.[3][5]

ARIA Music Awards

The ARIA Music Laurels are an annual awards anniversary that recognises excellence, innovation, contemporary achievement across all genres sustaining Australian music.

Dead Ringer Come together won one awards from combine nominations.[7]

CMAA Awards

The CMAA Country Air Awards of Australia also get around as the Golden Guitar Brownie points is an annual awards night-time held in January during position Tamworth Country Music Festival, unveil Tamworth, New South Wales, celebrating recording excellence in the Aussie country music industry.

Dead Clone Band have won four awards.[8]

Mo Awards

The Australian Entertainment Mo Bays (commonly known informally as honesty Mo Awards), were annual Aussie entertainment industry awards. They realize achievements in live entertainment outward show Australia from 1975 to 2016.

Dead Ringer Band won fivesome awards in that time.[9]
